3rd TECHNOLOGY SUMMIT share
As Acarkent Doğa College High School Student Assembly, we completed our Science and Arts Week with the Acarkent Doga Technology Summit, which we organized for the third time this year with the theme “Women’s Place in Science and Technology” on International Women’s Day on March 8th.
This year, our guests who are pioneers and role models in their fields were Ms. Nevin Çizmecioğlu, IDC Turkey Country Director, Ms. Tugba Şişik, General Manager of Zyxel Communication Technologies Turkey Channel, Ms. Didem Unat, Technical University Computer Engineer Academician, Young Guru Academy (YGA) Film Production Officer Ms. Cansu Aykan. Our guests are shared the difficulties of being a woman in science, technology and business life and their success stories in their fields with the students of Acarkent Doğa College. Thank you so much for accepting our invitation and coming to our school.
‘’LIBRARY FOR EVERY SCHOOL’’ PROJECT share
As Acarkent Doğa Anatolian High School, we donated 582 reading and testing books to Gümüşhane Kurtün Taşlıca Primary and Secondary School with the “Library for every school’’ project launched within the scope of World Children’s Books Week, which we recently completed.
38th ISTANBUL TUYAP BOOK FAIR TRIP share
We visited the “38th Istanbul International Book Fair” under the leadership of our school Book Club. We aimed to develop the love and habits of reading books of the prep , 9th and 10th graders who went on this trip. Our students both had the opportunity to talk to the writers in the fair field and had their books signed. Moreover, they found the opportunity to follow the books of different publishers with this trip. Our conversation with these students on what their book shopping contributed to them made our trip even more meaningful.
DOĞA PERSONALITY BASED ORIANTATION TEST share
D-KTYT, is based on the theory of Jung ve Myers Briggs.This test, which was devoloped under the consultancy of Assistant Professor doctor Mustafa Otrar, Marmara University the Chief of Assessment and Evaluation Department, is used in order to monitor the personality development of our 10-15 year-old students based on scientific and objective data. Extraversion-introversion; sensuality-intuitionism ; thought-emotion; judgment-perceptiveness exist in all of us as tendencies. This test tries to reveal the dominant features of our students. The results are shared with our students in order to support them in making choices appropriate to their interests and personality traits. In this direction, they can participate in scientific project competitions.These competitions affect the career development of our students, help them make better decisions while determining the university and department goals related to the scientific field they work on, and this process will prepare them for academic life at the university.
WORLD HEALTH DAY SEMINAR share
A seminar was organized on World Mental Health Day on October 10, by The Psychology Literacy Club of our school, which aims to provide students with basic knowledge about psychology and use this knowledge in their daily life. Specialist Psychiatrist Dr. Kıymet İmbat Taşkın attended the seminar organized at our school with the topic of perspectives of mental health and adolescence in the 21st century. Specialist Psychiatrist Dr. Kıymet İmbat Taşkın stated that mental health is integrated with physiological health and drew attention to the necessity of being cared for. As Acarkent Doğa Anadolu Lisesi, we celebrate the mental health day of everyone who regards mental and physical health as a whole.
